The map of agreements left by the results of 28-M is becoming clearer. Beyond those that are still sealed in the municipalities, yesterday two of them were closed, those of the Lleida and Tarragona councils. The PSC and ERC have closed separate agreements in these supra-municipal entities, blowing up, if it had not already done so, the pro-independence common front that 24 hours after the appointment with the polls raised by president Pere Aragonès.

The two agreements will allow ERC to preside over the two councils despite the fact that Junts was the first force in both entities and, although in Lleida the pact is defined and distributed up to the fourth vice-presidency, in the case of Tarragona it has not yet been yarn so fine There, the ERC agreement with the Socialists has opened a “war”.

ERC justifies the agreements by “the pacts of treason” of the post-convergents with the PSC in several municipalities. There are examples: Roses, Cunit, Dosrius… Agreements that have made the Republicans pay with the same coin even at the cost of definitively burying the pro-independence front’s own proposal.

Sources familiar with the negotiations in Lleida point out that the pact has been possible “by weaving territorial complicity” and recognize the role of the ERC interlocutor, Montserrat Fornells, deputy in Parliament and mayoress of Vilanova de l’Aguda. The pact, “with discretion”, has been woven for two weeks and has had the role of Unitat d’Aran (UA) and Pacte Local (PDECat), which achieved a representative in the council that has been crucial. In this way, the presidency remains with the ERC, the PSC takes over the first vice presidency; the republicans with the second; UA, the third, and Pacte Local, the fourth.

On the other hand, in Junts, which was the first force, they see it as “a declaration of war and disloyalty.” And they think the same about what happened in Tarragona.

In this deputation, the Socialists proposed to the post-convergents an agreement in which they were dispensed with the presidency, but it was the former president Carles Puigdmont who stopped him to try to agree with ERC. It was then that the PSC activated the agreement with the Republicans, which was finally signed on Friday.

According to Republican sources, at the meeting table in Geneva with Junts two weeks ago, they proposed sharing the presidency for two years for each one. JxCat assures, for its part, that this proposal was launched by them last week. The versions contradict each other when it comes to settling the blame.

It is worth taking into account the large number of small town halls that post-convergents have in the province of Tarragona. And in the party leadership they feel “stabbed” by ERC.

With the agreement already closed in the Girona Provincial Council between the two pro-independence parties, the new pacts open the ban for socialists and post-convergents to reissue that of the Barcelona Provincial Council. In the PSC they have never hidden that they would like to repeat, but in Junts they awaited events before sealing it. matter of hours
