The Popular Party and Vox have reached a preliminary agreement for the investiture of Cristina Ayala (PP) as mayor of Burgos and to form a government coalition in the City Council, as confirmed this Wednesday by the candidate of the formation of Santiago Abascal, Fernando Martínez- Actors.
Martínez-Acitores has insisted that “there are still fringes to close”, although he has highlighted the “good harmony” between both parties throughout the different meetings that have been held since the municipal elections.
Regarding the pre-agreement, he explained that, almost certainly, he will assume the Vice Mayor’s office and that Vox will face the management of the Citizen Security Area, although he has made it clear that it is not a firm agreement.
In any case, Fernando Martínez-Acitores has advanced that both formations will stage the agreement before the celebration of the plenary session of investiture this Saturday, June 17.
The Popular Party obtained eleven councilors in the elections on May 28, when Vox won four, while the PSOE, which was the force with the most votes, achieved a representation of twelve councilors.
