Nintendo Switch Release Date Features Day-One Update

Nintendo will release a day-one update for the console just before it launches next week, according to GameSpot .

GameSpot got a Nintendo Switch before its release, but found the system doesn’t have all of its launch-day functionality as of yet. Nintendo will release the update just before the console launches March 3.

Here’s what the update will have according to the report :

Access to network features, such as Nintendo eShop, online gameplay, ability to share images to social media, etc.

Ability to link Nintendo Accounts to your Nintendo Switch console.

Ability to connect online using hotspots that require authentication, such as at a hotel or café. A web applet will open up so the user can sign-in or accept terms of use.

The Nintendo Switch day-one update does not come with access to the Virtual Console, which won’t be available at launch but could in the future. The update will quickly and quietly download in the background without disrupting gamers.

Nintendo Switch Unboxing Video and GameStop Bundles

Before the highly-anticipated console is released, Nintendo published an official unboxing video on YouTube, which shows the console come with a power adapter, an HDMI cable, the Joy-Con Grip, two Joy-Con wrist Retrobet straps, the L and R Joy-Cons, the dock.

The console, which will be priced at $299, will have an interesting game list, which will be available when it launches.

Meanwhile, GameStop announced this week it will offer two bundles for the Switch. One of them features the Switch, the Switch’s Pro controller and a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild , going for $429.99. The second features everything in bundle one, but includes a strategy guide for Breath of the Wild , priced at $454.99.
