Missed the submarine from the Second world War is found on the bottom of the sea

An american submarine, which has been missing since 1944, has been found on the ocean floor off the japanese coast.

It informs the organization Lost 52 Project, looking for missing american vessels, on Monday. It writes the news agency dpa.

the Submarine has been missing since the during the Second world War was attacked by the japanese air force the 27. February 1944.

Then disappeared the submarine and its crew of 80 men. What became of the wreck has the past 75 years has been a mystery.

It is due to, among other things, that the japanese information on where the submarine sank, has been translated wrong.

Lost 52 Project has found the submarine 80 kilometers off the city of Okinawa in about 430 meters depth.

the Organization is dedicated to collecting information about the missing u.s. sailors and give them to their relatives and the general public.

The relatives of the 80 crew members of the submarine has been informed of the finding.

It succeeded the organization to find the submarine after having undergone a long series of military documents. Including hiding the correct coordinator for the japanese attack in 1944.

Tim Taylor led the team that found the boat. He describes for the newspaper The Washington Post found that “great”.

– were All excited. And then it dawned on us that 80 men are buried in there, so it was also a thought-provoking experience, he says.

Found of the submarine has given a much needed closure to the many crew relatives. One of them is Gloria Hurney.

Her uncle Raymond Parks died when the submarine sank in 1944.

– I have read a book which said that only God knows where these ships are. But now we know where the Grayback is, says Gloria Hurney to ABC News.
