Mette Lisby caught up in the drama: – We can smell the smoke

recent weeks have wild and fierce forest fires ravaged Los Angeles. Thousands of people have been evacuated, while the flames have devoured huge areas and made thousands homeless.

The Danish comedian Mette Lisby is in the ninth year a resident of the american city, and together with her husband, radio host Jesper Bæhrenz, she has been an eyewitness to the sinister fires.

– It has been close, but we live on top of a mountain, so we have luckily been spared of the flames, says Mette Lisby to Ekstra Bladet.

The Danish celebrity-couple live in the Hollywood Hills and from here they have been able to follow brandenes fury.

– The other day, burned it down at the Warner Bros studio. There stood a large pillar of smoke up ahead of us, and we can smell the smoke all the time, says Mette Lisby.

Although the area where 51-year-old Mette Lisby and her three-year-older man has settled, is slipped mercifully from the fire, she says, to all in Los Angeles all the time is a kind of high alert.

It was a very deep, dramatic and very demanding role to play. Therefore, it was really cool for me as a comedian to be allowed to try their hand at it, says Mette Lisby, who has a good deal of experience as an actor from his starring role in the film ‘Klinkevals’.

I cried a lot in the ‘Mother’s day’, but I’m luckily pretty much in touch with my emotions, so it was no problem, says Mette Lisby on the movie that Jeanine Frosts graduation.

– I will game like players more plays. I’m puttering some ideas, where I is both in front of and behind the cameras, says Mette Lisby.

in addition to the film project the direction both she and Jesper Bæhrenz with a lot of other things. They write lots of texts in both Danish and american, they are still working on their film about Victor Borge and so can Mette Lisby each week be heard in the satirical P1 programme ‘Faking News’, which gets across the Atlantic.

– We love to be over here and have no plans to move back home. On the other side, so we are very mobile and move like to go where things are happening, says Mette Lisby, who lived in London, before she moved to the UNITED states.

– We feel insanely privileged. In the summer we are in Denmark for three months, when Jesper doing radio, and all of our projects we can make from both the UNITED states and Denmark. It is because the right fat, she says.
