Bake off: famosos al horno, which would be like a MasterChef of desserts, arrives tonight on La 1 of RTVE after two previous experiences: on Cuatro, with Jesús Vázquez at the helm in 2019, and on Amazon Prime Video, with Paula Vázquez and Brays Efe as hosts in 2021. The public network has acquired the rights to this culinary competition based on the British format The great british bake off and has programmed it just in the quarter in which no version of MasterChef is broadcast, probably with the intention of keeping the audience loyal to the food competitions.
The debut of the format on the public channel will have a group of contestants who should not envy those of MasterChef Celebrity. From Rocío Carrasco, Terelu Campos and Alba Carrillo (faces linked to Telecinco until very recently) to three pairs of siblings: Ana Boyer and Julio Iglesias jr., the Salazar d’Azúcar Moreno sisters and ex-football players Julio and Patxi Salinas. A total of fourteen celebrities who will fight to become the best pastry chef and win a prize that they will give to the oenagé of their choice.
The main competition of Bake off: famosos al horno will be, interestingly enough, Gran Hermano duo on Telecinco. In other words, another version of the Gran Hermano format, as happened last quarter, when MasterChef had Gran Hermano VIP in front of it and managed to surpass it in terms of viewers. A duel that will now be repeated with similar weapons and that can be decisive to get the second place in the monthly ranking of audiences, in which there are La 1 and Telecinco since Antena 3 has consolidated the leadership without for now seeing the position In the Thursday night battle, Antena 3 opts for the premiere of a new series of its own production: Entre tierras.
Among the celebrities participating in Bake Off, Ana Boyer stands out, who will make her television debut. She recorded the program during the first months of her pregnancy (she is currently five months old). Ana Boyer explained in the presentation of the program that combining the recordings with her condition had meant that she was able to rest less than she would have liked, but that, fortunately, “the smells of pastry at least are more pleasant and less strong than in the kitchen” .
He admitted that, in a way, he had been the editor’s consent, with reference to the treatment of all his colleagues: “Everyone has taken great care of me and I have been doing well. Therefore, I can’t complain either.” And about sharing this experience with his brother, he described the experience as “very fun” because they have a “very good relationship”, although he warned that “Julio doesn’t know anything about pastry and cooking “.
In this new edition Paula Vázquez repeats as presenter, who praised the casting and defined it as “really hilarious”. In terms of the mechanics of the competition, the applicants will have to overcome two culinary challenges in each installment that will be judged by a jury made up of chef Paco Roncero, confectioner Eva Arguiñano and pastry chef Damián Betular.
