‘Jane The Virgin’ Season 3 Spoilers: Gina Rodriguez And Justin Baldoni Tease Return Of Jane And Rafael Romance

It might be too soon to have Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) fall in love again. After all, in fans’ minds, her husband Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) died just a few weeks ago. But in the show, it’s already been three years since Michael passed away. The characters have moved on from the tragedy, and even Jane’s son Mateo is now talking and walking on his own.

One of the things that fans are desperate to know is if she’ll rekindle her romance with her baby daddy, Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni). The two had a steamy romance in Season 1, but in the end, Jane chose Michael and left Rafael heartbroken.

This Season 3, Rafael recovered from his heartbreak and became friends with Jane. Since Michael died, Jane has even come to consider Rafael as her best friend. Rafael might be seeing a new woman for now, Abby Whitman (Minka Kelly), but there’s no quelling the hope of Team Rafael fans.

Rodriguez and Baldoni themselves seemed to have fueled that hope after they posted similar photos on social media.

Meanwhile, Michael Ausiello from TV Line said that now is just not the right time for Jane to find love again. “If you’re like me, you’re probably wondering how long it’ll be before Jane starts boning Rafael. Well…you may have to wait a while,” he said.

But Rodriguez is saying otherwise. The actress is not closing any doors on Jane and Rafael’s relationship and gave fans reason to hope that Jane and Rafael would become a true family for their son. “It’s a telenovela, c’mon, you know that,” Rodriguez said, according to Bustle. “There’s gonna be a lot of triangles, a lot of love. A lot of messiness and redemption and all the things we go through on a daily basis. Lots.”
