Magnus Hedman was on top, he kept a clean sheet in both the Premier League and in the Swedish national team.

He was a rich star, who was idoliseret of many. He was Sweden’s best player in 2000 – he should be happy. But he carried on a secret.

A secret that cost him a major downturn later.

The now 46-year-old swede has previously openly told about his drug use, but in the documentary ‘Magnus Hedman: Andra helvlek’ which comes on Tuesday at Dplay, he says now, why it came so far for him.

– I was sexually exploited as a child. A family member of a person in my inner circle. It began when I was seven years old and was going on until I was 12 years old. I told it never to anyone. I did not understand how wrong it was. I did not know what I could do, says Magnus Hedman.

He told the first time the history two years ago when he was posting on a behandlingshjem. It came to pass, after he had committed suicide as a result of being dropped back into abusing the pot.

the Treatment required, that you told about her childhood – and then tumbled the skeletons out of the closet

– It has been in me all the time, but I have stored it away. Otherwise I have not been able to live. But there on the behandlingshjemmet poured it just above. It is something that shows how dysfunctional my childhood was.

– Previously I have always referred to my childhood as very happy. And I’ve thought and felt this way. But afterwards there were other pages.

– There were many drinking problems in my family, when I grew up – and so it is here with the sexual exploitation. But I have not dared to look back at it.

– I learned how to escape from feelings first, with the help of soccer ball and then with the substances. Until two years ago, where I sat down on the behandlingshjemmet and began to tell, says Magnus Hedman.

There, he discovered that the pieces of his life puzzle fell into place. That the violation was the cause of his abuse.

the Infringer is no longer a part of the Hedmans life, and he chooses to come forward to help others to do the same.

He is also no longer afraid to fall in and once again become dependent on drugs as it was then, he poured amphetamine directly into the morning coffee to get the everyday life to hang together. But it quickly came to appear anything but coherent.

– When you take amphetamines every morning, it goes strong. The only thing I could think of was the next rus – it was the only thing important.

– I could blow in to pick up my children in the kindergarten in the hunt for the next rus. I would just want more and more, says Magnus Hedman.

He set the career in 2007 in Chelsea after the stay, among others, Celtic, and Coventry. Hedman went on to play 58 matches for the Sweden.
