Huawei announced its latest smartphones, the P10 series at a Mobile World Congress press conference Sunday. The Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus are set to launch in March, selling for €649 ($685) and €699 ($738) respectively. There will also be a high end P10 Plus version with larger RAM and storage capacities selling for €799 ($845). There is no word on U.S. availability for the smartphones.
The Huawei P10 has an iPhone feel in terms of design and bring to Huawei’s P series the Leica dual-lens camera technology, which was introduced on the Mate 9 smartphone. Both models feature a 12-megapixel RGB and 20-megapixel Monochrome camera configuration. However, the P10 features a Leica Summarit-H lens and f/2.2 aperture, while the P10 Plus features a Leica Summilux lens and f/1.8 aperture. The wider aperture may mean consumers should expect sharper and better low-light images on the P10 Plus; however, both devices should produce a similar quality as they maintains similar specs. Both cameras have also been upgraded with optical image stabilization (OIS), which was not featured on the Huawei P9.
Consumers will have an extensive color portfolio from which to choose, including Ceramic White, Dazzling Blue, Dazzling Gold, Prestige Gold, Graphite Black, Mystic Silver, Rose Gold and Greenery.
Both the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus feature to Huawei Kirin 960 chip and the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with the EMUI 5.1 interface. However, other hardware configurations differ. The Huawei P10 features a 5.1-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and a 3,200 mAh battery. The Huawei P10 Plus features a 5.5-inch QHD display, 4GB RAM / 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM / 128 GB internal storage configurations and a 3,750 mAh battery.
