– It is a big thing in Antarctica’s history. 100 percent of the tour was conducted of the 12 arms of 600 nautical miles (1100 kilometers, ed.). It is phenomenal, ” says Wayne Ranney, a geologist, who has crossed the waters in motorized vessels more than 50 times, to the AP.

Colin O’Brady was the captain of the robåden that may cross between whales and iceberg on the journey. He tells about the trip:

We rowed in an open hole, while the waves of 40 feet (12 meters, red.) hitting us in the face with almost frozen water.

– It was quite the challenge. Finally we had lost a part weight and was dizzy due to. the lack of sleep, he says.

the 34-year-old Colin O’Brady’s has previously crossed the South pole on foot as the first ever. After a fire disaster which took place in Thailand 12 years ago, he had otherwise told he would never go.
