Gunman robs store in Long Hill and flees, police say

LONG HILL — Police are searching for an armed man who held up a convenience store clerk at gunpoint Saturday night.

The man was seen walking into the parking lot of Country Farms at 87 Division Ave. in the Millington section of town, entering the store at 8:20 p.m., pointing a handgun at the clerk and demanding money, the Long Hill Township Police Department said.

The clerk turned over money — the amount was not specified — and the man fled the scene on foot, police said.

No one was hurt and the investigation is ongoing.

Police said there is no evidence the man remained in the area.

The suspect is described as a male caucasian, approximately 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds with some facial hair, and wearing camouflage-style military clothing.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Long Hill Township Police Department at 908-647-1800, extension 0, and request to speak to the shift supervisor.
