The bet for the most voted list defended by the leader of Alberto Núñez Feijóo does not seem to convince the territorial leaders of the party.

There are more and more municipalities where the equation of PP with Vox is emerging as the most common sum. After the municipal elections on May 28, there are 229 municipalities where PP and Vox have a sufficient majority to govern and in 84 of them they can do so even though the PSOE is the most voted list.

In the specific case of the provincial capitals, out of a total of 50, 28 can be governed by the PP from Saturday. In 14 of these cases, the popular mayors will obtain the confidence of the plenum by an absolute majority of their councillors, but in another 14 the designation depends on the support they can get. And that’s where Vox comes in.

The case of the Castilian city was already closed a few days ago. Yesterday it transpired that the agreement reached with Vox grants the far-right party the offices of Citizen Security, Culture and Education, among others. The pact includes a plan against squatting and support for victims and a comprehensive plan for economic, social and cultural support for the family, with special attention to birth, and the incorporation of the family perspective into municipal management and regulations .

The candidate of the Popular party, Carlos Velázquez, will become mayor of the city on Saturday with the support of the four councilors of Vox and, in this way, unseat the socialist Milagros Tolón, who led the most voted candidacy in the elections of the 28th The pact between the PP and the far-right ends more than 16 years of socialist government in the city. In a similar situation, although it has not officially been made public yet, there is the capital of Guadalajara, where PP and Vox will get the government. The new mayor, from the PP, will be Ana Guarinos.

PP and Vox have extended the agreement beyond the Generalitat Valenciana. The pact to govern the city of Elche was announced a few days ago, where the PSOE was the most voted list with 12 deputies and the PP the second, with 11. However, the sum with Vox has allowed wrest the government from the socialists. The scheme is also repeated in Torrent, where the PSOE obtained 10 councilors and the PP 9, which, added to Vox’s 4, will wrest the mayorship from the PSOE. Something similar could happen in Xàbia, where the future of the government is in the hands of an independent group.

The PP accelerates the pacts with Vox in the Madrid city councils. The Ayuso effect, which will allow the PP to govern with an absolute majority in the Community of Madrid, swept away a large number of municipal candidates in 28-M and favored landslides in some Madrid localities, among which Galapagar stands out. The final count of ballots in the municipality – which acquired political notoriety for being the residence chosen by Pablo Iglesias and the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero – left Podemos without representation and the PSOE in the minority, so that the Popular Party, which was the most voted force, will be able to evict the socialists from the mayor’s office, despite the fact that it will have to have the support of the Vox councilors to govern.

Something similar could be repeated in around 40 other municipalities, including cities where the PSOE did obtain a majority, such as Alcalá de Henares or Arganda del Rey. The regional management of the PP has given the go-ahead to the signing of coalition agreements with the party led by Santiago Abascal in exchange for evicting the PSOE. Even in cases where the PP has not been the force with the most votes.

One of the most unique cases of the ongoing negotiations is that of Jaén, where the PSOE and the PP obtained exactly the same number of councilors, 11. Vox obtained two more and the formation Jaén Mereix Més, framed in the platforms of empty Spain, he got three, so everything will be in his hands on Saturday. The socialist party has offered him a Borgen-style solution, he is ready to hand over the mayorship to form a government.

And in terms of exotic agreements, that of La Guardia in Toledo, where a pact between PP and Podemos is taking shape to expel the PSOE mayor. Podemos has already said that, if it materializes, it will open a file with its councilors.
