Fired after three months: Now he has a new job

The former French footballer Thierry Henry must be a coach in the canadian Montreal Impact in the MLS League.

It informs the club on its website.

the Contract runs to 2021-season out with the option of a further year.

– He is konkurrencemindet and a leader who has excelled at the highest level throughout his career. He brings his skills with him to Montreal, a place he would like to be, say klubpræsident Kevin Gilmore.

Henry was last autumn, presented as the coach of Monaco – his first cheftrænerjob – but it was a short pleasure.

Already in January he was fired after a period of disappointing results.

As a player, Henry was a key figure at Arsenal from 1999 to 2007 before he switched to Barcelona, where he was for three years. He was in this period among Europe’s best attackers.

He was also past Juventus after the breakthrough in Monaco. He ended with four years at New York Red Bulls. Now, the tour goes then again to north America.

Henry will be officially presented before the media on Monday and take office in January, when the training for the new season begins.
