In a muddy end to the campaign and not exempt from shocks due to the complaints about vote buying, the president of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijóo, yesterday demanded a massive vote “against those who want to win with deceit and traps” and for the “Sanchismo” finds out that “democracy is not for sale.” After visiting the Valencian Community, the popular leader compared the latest information hitting the PSOE for buying ballots with an “electoral mascletà “.
References to ongoing investigations into vote buying in which PSOE militants are allegedly involved were present at all the events on the last day of the campaign. In Madrid, Ayuso accused Sánchez of practicing a “pucherazo”.
Feijóo closed the campaign with acts in three squares where the undecided voter will be decisive when making a count of the territories won and lost by PP and PSOE.
He began his journey on the last day in Alicante after visiting Valencia the day before in whose bullring the popular held their central act of the campaign last Sunday.
The Valencian Community has become the main object of desire of the PP, which considers that the defeat of the PSOE in the most important autonomy that it governs would give it a definitive push ahead of the general elections at the end of the year.
The second stop of the day was in an act that brought together close to a thousand people to support the popular candidate in Castilla-La Mancha, Paco Núñez. Although in this community the change of government is presumed to be much more complicated, if it were to be achieved, the Spanish territorial panorama would be turned upside down. The different polls published give the socialist Emiliano GarcÃa-Page an advantage who, although with some wear and tear, would maintain the absolute majority despite the advance of the PP and the entry of Vox, for the first time in the regional parliament.
And Feijóo ended up in Madrid with Isabel DÃaz Ayuso, who, in the Ifema auditorium, recounted the bleak panorama that, in her opinion, represents Spain governed by Pedro Sánchez – while the Madrid leader intervened on the screen, the motto could be read “ Spain is still alive†– and among whose supposed skills he attributed to him that of practicing the electoral “pucherazoâ€. Literally: “Sánchez is going to leave as he arrived, with an attempted punch.”
For Ayuso, the President of the Government wants to “buy Spain, the Council of Ministers to the Council of Ministers, with everyone’s money.” And he added: if it lasts “one more week, there is not a crime defined in the Penal Code that does not lead a candidate from the left.”
Ayuso, always with a tone that is two or two octaves higher than Feijóo’s, gave up the last minutes of the closing of the campaign to the leader of the Popular Party, but not before promising him: “I will always be by your side, always at your entire disposal â€.
The leader of the Popular Party ended an intense journey at Ifema. There he ended up asking for “a clear vote” to put a “stop on sanchismo.”
From the beginning and until the end of the campaign, Feijóo has raised this battle as a plebiscite on the President of the Government. On Sunday it will be seen if his bet has come to fruition.
