Family (and romantic) evening in Palma

A family dinner is a family dinner, but Kings Felipe and Letícia do not forget that they are also a couple and do not spare gestures of love and complicity. On Saturday, after the trophy ceremony for the Mapfre Sailing King’s Cup, the King celebrated, together with the women with whom he shares his life in Marivent, the second place obtained in the regattas. A dinner that is repeated every year and allows the entire family group to be seen, this time: the Kings, Princess Eleonor, Infanta Sofia, Queen Sofia and Princess Irene, who was also joined by the couple formed by Tatiana Radziwill , Queen Sofia’s cousin, and her husband Jean Fruchaud, who spend a few days as guests in Mallorca every summer.

The King went straight to the restaurant from the awards ceremony that took place in the Ses Voltes grounds, under Palma Cathedral, and his family was waiting for him there. The place chosen was the Mia restaurant, in the seafaring district of Portitxol, a place specializing in Mallorcan dishes, fish and salads, which has just been opened by chef Guillermo Cabot, former manager of Ola de Mar, the restaurant that the family has frequented other years.

The dinner lasted almost two hours and the Kings were the first to leave the door, starring in a romantic scene in which Letícia held the King by the back, while looking at him in awe. Meanwhile, the Princess and the Infanta were helping Queen Sofia and Princess Irene, aged 86 and 81 respectively, to leave the premises. To go down the stairs that separated the door of the premises from the sidewalk, the Queen took Princess Irene’s hand to help her walk, while Queen Sofia leaned on her granddaughters, Princess Eleonore and the Infanta.

Before getting into the cars to return to Marivent, the royal family huddled together so that photographers waiting outside could capture the image of them all together, the first of the Kings and their daughters in the company of Queen Sofia since they all they settled in Palma.

For the night out, Letícia chose a red Mango midi dress with flat sandals in leather and rhinestones; the Princess opted for a long dress in white paisley print on a green background, a design similar to those of her last appearances and the infanta Sofia chose an original design by the Barcelona firm Babbaki in khaki color with ikat print, in fuchsia and white, with gold thread detail. Both sisters wore high-wedge beige espadrilles.

Queen Sofia swapped her usual printed Escada pajamas for a white pique dress with blue and red motifs and trimmings, teamed with blue esparta slippers. Princess Irene, who appears to have overcome the serious health problems that plagued her months ago, wore a greenish blouse and beige trousers. The King wore the regatta uniform, navy blue trousers and white polo shirt with the Aifos logo.
