Esquerra already has two negotiating teams for everything related to the next term of Congress, both for operations in the Lower House – constitution of the plenary session, election of Bureau members, parliamentary groups… – and for a eventual investiture of Pedro Sánchez. The spokeswoman for all this will be the ex-counselor of Climate Action and now number two of the Republicans in Madrid, Teresa Jordà.
The nucleus is formed by Jordà, the leader of the formation in Madrid, Gabriel Rufián, and the senator Sara Bailac. Several members of the party leadership will be added to this triad for matters of a political and strategic nature; with the general secretary, Marta Rovira, the ex-counselor for Territories, Juli Fernández, the deputy general secretary and Parliament spokesperson, Marta Vilalta, and the president of the republican group in the Catalan Chamber, Josep Maria Jové.
In this last section there are two folders: a first negotiation with Junts to try to build a common front to jointly negotiate in Madrid the conditions of the investiture, and another to talk with the PSOE about the investiture once get into the subject.
With regard to the talks with Junts, from the republican formation they point out that there have already been the first contacts in an informal way, and they expect that in the coming weeks they will advance along this path, after the last control session of the session period the president, Pere Aragonès, and the president of the Junts al Parlament group, Albert Batet, said good words and urged each other to come to an agreement as soon as possible.
Regarding a possible investiture of Sánchez, ERC has spoken in the campaign of raising the price and has specified all this in the fact of maintaining the negotiation table and, in parallel, addressing ordinary issues such as the problems of Rodalies or the deficit fiscal Together, for its part, it focuses exclusively on the negotiation of an amnesty and the possibility of organizing a binding referendum, for now.
On the other hand, this week the republicans have started a process of internal reflection after the elections in May and July, in which those of Oriol Junqueras have retreated significantly. It will last until December. To do this, they have created five working groups with representatives of the party from the territorial and sectoral level, and they will address issues such as modernizing the organization, studying the vote of young people and women, why they have lost the trust of the citizens , improve the communication of their messages and what changes are necessary.
