The refusal of the Popular Party and the resignation of Vox has led PRISA Media to call off the electoral debate between candidates that was scheduled for Friday, July 14.
After initially accepting the invitation, Vox has announced that it will not participate in the debate as it coincides with a campaign event by Santiago Abascal. The resignation of the far-right party is added to the refusal of the Popular Party to attend the meeting, which left the debate in a face-to-face between Pedro Sánchez and Yolanda Díaz, who had confirmed their participation.
According to PRISA, Abascal had accepted the invitation “interested in debating and being able to convey” his “electoral message to all Spaniards”.
