Economic slap in the face after the WORLD cup debacle: – It has consequences

The Danish atletikstjerne Sara Slott Petersen is hit financially after his disqualification at the WORLD championships in Doha.

OL-sølvvinderen from Rio was on Tuesday disqualified to pass a hedge illegal in his preliminary heat in the 400 metres hedge. She resigned following a protest, which was rejected.

– It is terrible purely sporting, but it also has economic consequences for me. I have lost the prize money, lost sponsorpenge. It’s what I live by, says Sara Slott to TV2 Sport.

– It just has so a big impact for me, personally, that there are some judges who sits and is a little belittled, and afraid to recognize their mistakes, she says.

The 32-year-old hækkeløber believe that the way, she passed the hedges on, was completely legal.

She explains that the disqualification will affect, which rallies she in the future can participate in.

Sara Slott qualified a month ago for next year’s OLYMPICS in Tokyo, where she must try to defend the medal she won in 2016 in Rio.
