“The PNB has won”, “the PNB has won” and so on up to a dozen times in twenty minutes of Andoni Ortuzar and Imanol Pradales’ appearance. The PNB has won and Aitor Esteban passes accounts to X with Pablo Iglesias: “We can spend the campaign telling the Basque citizens that “the PNB had to be kicked out”. It seems that the Basque people thought it best to remove Podemos from their Parliament: zero seats”. “Don Aitor, isn’t it a shame to attack the hospitality industry in this way?”, asks a tweeter sarcastically.
Pradales will be lehendakari with the votes of the socialists while the cliché of the bitter victory is reaffirmed in the digital agora: Bildu wins in the network trends. There is more talk of terrorists after the elections in the Basque Country than during the campaign. ETA is not an electoral variable, not even when Pello Otxandiano is unable to define it as a terrorist group. @FernandoArambur confessed to Gemma Nierga: “I’m not surprised by the result. Bildu’s strategy is to turn a page. They have done this very well.”
At Bildu’s polling station, they shouted “Jo ta ke fenzi arte” – Hit hard until victory – and the result was historic. The accounts of ERC a X congratulate themselves, as those of Junts do with Pradales, while on the Spanish right it is written as never before: “terrorists”, “filoetarres soci de Sánchez”. They even praise Koldo García, the spearhead against the Spanish president. “You say you have a clear conscience. Could you tell us who might not have her so calm?” asks a Bildu senator to José Luis Ábalos’ former adviser. Koldo replies: “Maybe you, right? The first ones”. “Must Koldo be the only socialist who tells the clear things to those of Bildu?”, asks @josepramonbosch.
PNB wins, Bildu grows, Podemos disappears and Sumar transmutes. The candidate is left out of the Basque Parliament and highlights the effects of the division of the left and its balances. @_mundus describes it: “When you ask Sumar: Barbie pink smile, young, young and with an ephemeral political past in Podemos… and when it arrives: historian zorokotroko head of the PC in Euskadi, socialized in Gazte Komunistak. Laugh at AliExpress!”.
And what makes the polls go viral: in Orexa, Bildu got 100% of the votes (60); Laguardia is the only municipality where PNB or Bildu did not win; and the reality of the “new politics”: “Podem won the general elections in the Basque Country in 2016. And Ciutadans won the Catalan Parliament in 2017”, reminds @Rogerbuch. Podemos disappears and Citizens… On 12- M.
