Here the player Ranthe one of the four main characters in the film, which is about a group of four high school teachers, played by Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Lars Ranthe and Magnus Millang, who plunges into an experiment that, quite simply, is to maintain a constant the influence of alcohol in everyday life
– this is The third film I make with Vinterberg. And it’s always really exciting to work with Thomas. He gets some damn good ideas and so has he, of course, a position that he can get things to happen and hire some good people in, ” says Lars Ranthe to Ekstra Bladet.

Affected by the tragedy
in the Middle of the work with the film was the footage, however, stopped when Thomas Vinterberg was hit by a family tragedy when his 19-year-old daughter, Ida Maria Vinterberg, died in a car accident in Belgium.
We were hit by a tragedy during filming. It is not something you just get over, but we were, nevertheless, integrated in our way of working. And got the film finished in Ida’s spirit, says Lars Ranthe.

the Movie is simple, but original premise on that we maybe all born with a little alcohol in the blood, Ranthe clearly thrilled.
– It is a tribute to the life and to say ‘yes’ to the intoxication in this politically correct time we live in, where everyone runs around the lakes in the tight clothing and drink havremælk, says Ranthe and continues:
– The (movie’s main characters, red.) believe that when you have the half percent in the blood, then you are more outgoing, happy and open. This begins the so to experiment with and integrate into their lives. It’s a pretty crazy idea, he has got, and I can’t wait to see it finished. It is a recipe, many have tried, but none have come good in the goal with.
Drank In during the filming?
– No, so we drank ourselves not full, but once in a while, we took a small one just to have the taste in your mouth, but we quickly found out that it not helped, if we were getting really full. It was a mess, so it did not much in. It is hard to be full of a whole film. It’s fun for five minutes, so I am looking forward to the result.
‘Drinking’ is vinterberg’s first Danish film since ‘the Collective’ from 2016. It is scheduled to premiere 27. august 2020.
