Australian authorities call the situation the worst thing you’ve ever seen. Close to the disaster are the danes Carsten Primdal, and Sarah Hartwell, both of which live in the exposed areas a few hundred meters from the fires.

– It is very scary to think that it is so close. You just sit and follow in the development of an app that shows where there is fire at and emit different alarms, says Carsten Primdal.

Though the fire currently is in a safe distance, Carsten Primdal not avoid being reminded of what is lurking out there constantly.

– That stinks of smoke. If it is just the smoke or what it is here, is hard to say. There is a deal of dust in the air, because we has had virtually no rain in the last two years, says Carsten Primdal, and adds:

– It is tremendously early in the season, that we have these fires. They are usually the first to be in the month of december or January-February, but this season it started very early.

Major chaos
Also Danish Sarah Hartwell resides close to the many fires in Australia. She writes in an email to Ekstra Bladet, that it’s all a big chaos.

‘I live in NSW in a rural Bush area called Tuncurry close to Rainbow Flat and Taree where burning has been extremely bad. We evacuated our galloping horses from the stables while burning just ten meters away from the stables. My boss almost lost his house, and all the roads here are closed pt. It has been complete chaos and we are almost surrounded by forest fires, pt,’ she writes.

He has even made some actions for himself and his family.

– Throughout the day today we have been inside, the kids have been home from school, and I and my wife work from home. Just that if we were to be evacuated, so we were together.

– the Children have just taken it as an extra day of vacation, but when they would go out and play with their friends, so we have said that it’s probably not a good idea.

– There is not much to do about it. There was a fire truck that drove by five minutes ago, and so getting a bit nervous, says Carsten Primdal to Ekstra Bladet.
