Claus Hjort on the Loop farewell address: A redemption

When Lars Løkke Rasmussen at a hovedbestyrelsesmøde 31. august in Brejning a little outside of the town, resigned as president of the Left, disappeared out of the back door.

on Saturday he took the front door, when he left the Liberal party national convention in Herning, denmark, after he had been hailed by the party, had held a talk and ate lunch.

It has been a resolution to put a final sentence, say the Left-nestor, Claus Hjort Frederiksen.

– It means everything, that we got the parting yesterday, and that Lars had made his speech, and came with his message. There are very many who deeply want to thank Lars for the many years he has been engaged in Liberal party politics, says Claus Hjort Frederiksen.

– It has tormented many the meeting of Brejning and the way it ended on. Therefore there was a need for it now took place in a proper, orderly and dignified way, he says.

Both Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Kristian Jensen left their posts after a turbulent august, when several in both the party’s support base and folketingsgruppe invited the two to withdraw.

Claus Hjort Frederiksen and Lars Løkke Rasmussen has for many years been close allies, but the Left-nestoren was even with to get formandsopgøret to escalate, since he is on the Liberal party sommergruppemøde called Kristian Jensen to go by.

It turned out wilder than I had imagined. But things evolved, as they developed, and in spite of it, I think we have found a very good solution, he says.

– Now we as a party look forward and not backwards all the time. It was to remove a burden from our shoulders, that it was as good as it did yesterday.
