Big black røgskyer rises out of the Normandy after a fire at the chemical plant as lubrizol in the French city of Rouen. The smoke from the massive fire could be seen 10 kilometers away from the plant.

The French interior minister, Christophe Castaner, tells to RTL radio, that there is nothing which would indicate that the smoke from the chemical plant would be dangerous. But the local authorities in the Seine-Maritime region encourages people to not to travel in the region, unless it is necessary.
Authorities are investigating what might have started the fire at the plant. The photos from the fire shows the massive flames and the AP report about the explosions from the chemical plant during the night.

The local authorities have, according to the AFP stated that the fire poses a risk for the pollution of the 777-kilometer-long river Seine. It runs out into the English channel from Rouen, where the flames stand out from the factory.
