Carrer Progrés and its ants yesterday won first prize in the decoration competition organized as part of Gràcia’s fiesta, after a disputed point count by the jury. Garnished with the theme of the film A bug’s life, by Pixar-Disney, the neighbors of this road suggest a journey through the hidden world of ants, between giant insect figures and a bird suspended in the air with you can interact by simulating its flight. Second place went to Mozart and his recreation of the tale Alice in Wonderland, which aims to inspire the audience to be the protagonist of the story.

Plaça Rovira i Trias took third place with its charity project called Volant con tu te ales ales to raise awareness about the butterfly skin disease, which mainly affects children. The design of the ornament represents a space full of white butterflies escaping from their captivity.

The 2022 winner, Carrer Verdi, came fourth with its interpretation of the legend of The Pied Piper of Hamelin, although it also took home the award for best Instagram photo, plus of other mentions.

The contest also has six special categories. Verdi won the prize for the majesty of the entrance, where there is an immense figure of the main character of the German legend of the Brothers Grimm. For its part, Carrer Jesús has received an award for the reuse of materials and artistic detail for having recreated the Amazon jungle with the aim of raising awareness about the environmental destruction of the planet.

The recognition for the best decoration of ceilings and windows went to the crossing of San Antonio, for its lanterns and portals of houses that transport visitors to the old city of New Orleans. Finally, the lighting award went to Tordera for the second year in a row, a street that also received a mention from Casa Vicens Gaudí for having claimed artisanal techniques that have given life to Catalan modernism.
