Broke into the villa and shot: Here is the judgment of the robbers

Two 30-year-old drug addicts was on the desperate hunt for money for more drugs, as broken windows in a villa in the town of Birkerød and penetrated masked into the house armed with a skarpladt semi-automatic shotgun.

the Robbers thought that there lived a master builder in the house, as they knew from the past and who used to have a vault filled with cash. But he was dead for a couple of years ago and the vault removed.

instead, the house was rented out to an elderly couple, while their own house was renovated after a water damage. The couple got a shock, when the robbers smashed the glass panes of the bryggersdøren and the bathroom at 04.45 on the morning of 12. October of last year.

The 71-year-old Flemming as the shotgun and thought, ’He must be damned hard in and shoot us!’. Flemming shouted to his 65-year-old wife, Jane, that she should call the police: ‘It is robbery. They have weapons!’

He tried to keep the door to the bedroom, but the one robber got pressed the shotgun into between the door and the door frame.

So Flemming grabbed the barrel of the gun, which the 71-year-old and geværmanden fought on, until a shot went of in the ceiling in the bedroom close to the 71-year-olds head.

Now, the Court in Lyngby convicted the two 30-year-old for the armed robbery of the particularly dangerous character of a private home. Mathias Andersen got four and a half years in prison and Christopher Bruun, who carried the shotgun, got five years in prison. They took time for reflection, with regard to the appeal.

Christoffer Bruun explained during the trial that the gun went of by accident, because his hand slid down on the trigger while the gun was pulled forward between him and the 71-year-old in the doorway to the bedroom.

the Court was divided, but a majority of nævningene believed that the shot was an accident, while the judges felt that Christoffer Bruun shot with intent.

He was previously convicted for possession of a gun.

The two 30-year-old explained that they only planned a burglary in the house, not a robbery.

The skarpladte shotgun only came with, because Christoffer Bruun couldn’t find a crowbar. His mate was so narkopåvirket that he did not know that there was a gun in the car, he said. Their explanations were, however, rejected by the court.

The two friends took many drugs in the run-up to the robbery and was missing all the time of money: – I was far out shit, to say the least. I was completely away from the world. I took so many drugs, so it pretty much was a lethal dose every day, explained Mathias Andersen.
