It’s been four months since the cover of ¡Hola! with the birth bomb by surrogacy of Ana Sandra, conceived with the frozen semen of Aless Lequio, who died three years ago. The news broke news and went around the world because Ana Obregón, at the age of 68, became a grandmother, but the legal mother of the girl. Yesterday, in the newsstand, the news of another birth took center stage in the pink press, leaving Tamara Falcó’s wedding in the background. Lecturas magazine exclusively published the new paternity of Bertín Osborne, who will turn 69 in December.
Gabriela Guillén, the 32-year-old woman with whom the singer has been in a relationship for three months, is in the first trimester of pregnancy. Although in most cases the news of the imminent arrival of a child is received with joy, yesterday it did not seem that Osborne was happy: “It was not a wanted pregnancy, but an accident, things that happen in a relationship many times, and that is why I insist that we have not sought it, but that does not mean that I do not assume my responsibilities as I have always done in this life. I’ll try to help, I’ll be with the boy or girl and I’ll make sure he doesn’t miss anything, and that’s it and it will be like that”, he confessed to the journalist Beatriz Cortázar on the radio program Las mañanas de Federico. And he added: “Gabi is a formidable girl. Affectionate, nice, beautiful, very hardworking and honest, but you can’t be forced to be in love. That is why I repeat that I will assume my responsibilities when the time comes. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other, it’s a decision made a long time ago and it will continue that way. Please don’t ask me anything else.”
Gabriela, for her part, responded at noon to Bertín’s words at the door of his house, where the media were waiting for him to leave: “Well, he will say what he wants, let him be responsible for what he says, I will not say nothing”, he started saying. And he assured that the pregnancy “was a surprise, but not an accident”. She added that her family found out about the pregnancy from the magazine, and that she would like it to be a girl.
But hours later, on the Antena 3 program Y ahora Sonsoles, Fabiola Martínez, Bertín’s ex-wife who works there as a collaborator, assured that it was the same singer and presenter who told her the news. It was then that Bertín Osborne himself entered live by phone, visibly angry, and assured that neither he nor Gabriela were irresponsible and qualified the words of the morning, when he said that the pregnancy, more than an accident , “it was not planned”. He assured that he does not yet know the sex of the baby, who will make sure that nothing is missing, like his mother. And he joked that in September “I’ll tie my tubes”.
Osborne did not want to clarify what his current relationship with Gabriela is like, with whom he acknowledges having spent “several very good months”, and that their relationship has been intermittent because he lives in Seville and she “lives and works like a donkey in Madrid” . When the relationship came to light, Bertín ran away from the studio and said that she “is a special friend, just like I have many other special friends” and she is neither my girlfriend nor am I in love.
It will be the singer’s seventh child. With Sandra Domecq, his first wife, he had four children: Cristian (who died a month after birth), Alejandra (1978), Eugenia (1986) and Claudia (1989). All three have made him a grandfather on seven occasions: Santiago, Fausto, Valentina (Alejandra); Juan, Sandra and Tristán (Eugenia), and Micaela (Claudia). In 2006 he married Fabiola Martínez, with whom he had two more children, Kike (2007) and Carlos (2008).
