Walking, being with the family or doing sports, but above all resting after the intense campaign for 23J, are the activities on the personal agendas of the candidates for the presidency of the Government on this day of reflection, although with distinctions such as that of Yolanda Díaz, who signed up for a social day of vermouth and cinema to see the movie Barbie.

The campaign for the general elections on July 23 has been marked by an intense rhythm of rallies, in some cases with daily doubles and even outdoors despite the high temperatures, and in the case of Pedro Sánchez (PSOE) with the obligations of the European presidency, but today comes the day of rest: the day of reflection.

The leaders will use this day free of obligations for personal matters that they deem necessary and, as has been reported, it will be marked by rest and family company, mainly in the case of Alberto Núñez Feijóo (PP), who will be in La Coruña, and Santiago Abascal (Vox).

Only Sánchez and Díaz seem to have a somewhat different agenda, since it is known from the head of the Executive that, in addition to spending it with the family, he will practice some sport, while Díaz has preferred a somewhat more sociable day, in the summer heat of the center of Madrid, “with friends,” sources from his training have detailed.

And it is that Díaz’s attendance at the cinema to see the iconic film of that blonde American doll, whose lifestyle made millions of girls and adolescents dream since the 1960s, has caused the ranks of Sumar, with a lot of humor, to spread memes, with a clear tendency to campaign until the last moment by any means.

Yolanda drives Barbie’s pink sports car with her Ken, who in the image is Sánchez and who is in the back of the vehicle: “She is the best, he is simply Ken,” reads the image.

The campaign ended last midnight and, since then, according to the electoral law “electoral propaganda cannot be disseminated or any campaign act carried out”: it is the well-known day of reflection.

According to the latest electoral survey of the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), made public on Monday, there were still 12.1% of undecided voters, a percentage similar to or slightly lower than that indicated by other demoscopic companies on the last day in which polls could be disseminated, so there will be citizens who use this day to reflect on the meaning of their vote.

And it has come out about the candidates that they will ask the aforementioned questions this Saturday before the big electoral event, always making it clear that they will vote for themselves and that at any moment they could be seen doing some activity that they have not announced:

In addition to being with the family, it is known that the President of the Government will do some sport. One of the ones he currently practices the most is cycling, since when he has free time he likes to cycle through areas of the Madrid mountains, sometimes accompanied by his wife, Begoña.

The leader of the popular will spend this day off with his wife and son in La Coruña, where he will take a walk through the center of the city. Already on Sunday, the day of the vote, he will go to the Ramiro de Maeztu school in Madrid at 11 a.m.

It is known from the leader of Vox that he is going to “reflect”, sources from the formation have said, and that he will spend a markedly family day.

At 1 pm she will be in a bar on Calle Noviciado in Madrid “with friends” to have a vermouth and in the afternoon she will go to the cinema with friends and the spokesperson for Feminism, Equality and LGTBI Rights and Freedoms, Elizabeth Duval. On Sunday she will vote at the Higher Technical School of Mining and Energy Engineers, on Ríos Rosas street.

Without alarms interrupting their sleep in the morning, the heads of the list of the Catalan political forces with representation in Congress will take advantage of the day of reflection to rest after an intense summer electoral campaign, they will go for a walk, some by the sea, and relax with family and friends.

The ERC number one at the Congress for Barcelona, ??Gabriel Rufián, plans to go running in the mountains, specifically in the Sierra de la Marina, next to Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), one of his favorite natural refuges for sports.

In the afternoon he will rest at home, although his initial plan has undergone a slight variation: he had planned to see the final chapter of the Succession series this Saturday, but he could not hold it any longer and, finally, devoured it this week.

The president of the Congress, Meritxell Batet, PSC candidate in these elections, will go for a walk by the sea with her mother, with whom she will stop to have breakfast and have a quiet chat.

Then he will travel to Altafulla (Tarragona) to visit some friends whom he has not been able to see in recent weeks.

Last Thursday, July 20, was the birthday of the eldest son of Míriam Nogueras, head of the JxCat list, who was barely able to spend some time with him, just on the day he turned 14.

This Saturday he hopes to make up for it: he will be at home with the family, they will prepare grilled meat to eat with some friends and he will walk through his municipality of residence, Cardedeu (Barcelona).

In her debut as the main candidate for Sumar-En Comú Podem, Aina Vidal will take advantage of the day of reflection to have a good rice dish with her group of friends.

It is a tradition that they have maintained for years and that this time Vidal and his friends will celebrate in the town of Montmeló (Barcelona).

The headliner of the PDeCAT-Espai CiU in these elections, Roger Montañola, plans to go swimming after breakfast at one of the Maresme beaches -he confesses that he needs to “touch the sea water”-, then he will eat with his partner, he will not forgive the nap and, in the afternoon, he will have a beer with friends, before picking himself up at home and stretching out on the sofa to watch a movie.

In the morning, the PPC candidate Nacho Martín Blanco plans to have breakfast with the president of the PP of the province of Barcelona and mayor of Castelldefels, Manu Reyes, who has given him a “magnificent reception” in the party after his signing from CS, just before the electoral campaign.

Later, Martín Blanco will go to look for his children, who are returning from some colonies, and he will spend the rest of the day with his family.

This Saturday, the head of the Vox list for the Barcelona Congress, Juan José Aizcorbe, has a special commitment: to attend a friend’s wedding.

For the rest of the day, his forecast is to be with his family, recovering strength for the next day’s vote.

The number one of the CUP to the Congress for Barcelona, ??Albert Botran, plans to spend “a very homely day”: he plans to be at home almost all day, although at night he has met friends for dinner.

“I will do what I have not been able to do these 15 days, which is to be with my partner, my family and my friends, whom I have seen very little these days of the campaign,” he explains.
