Alleged serial TD Bank robber busted outside latest target, report says

ENGLEWOOD — A 41-year-old man was arrested Friday after allegedly robbing several banks, NorthJersey.com reported.

Eddy Cruz, of New York City, was arrested right before midnight as he sat in his car allegedly preparing to rob TD Bank in Englewood, which police say would have been his fourth robbery, according to the report.

Police have accused Cruz of robbing three other TD banks in Scarsdale, New York, Fort Lee and Hasbrouck Heights.

Police said they surveyed the scene before arresting Cruz as he sat in his car. The car, a 2017, red Mitsubishi, had been reportedly used in each robbery, police said.

Cruz was charged with several counts of robbery and theft and for possessing heroin, according to the report.
