Airbus aircraft reused as a coffee table

Have you always dreamed of having a plane at home in the living room? Then you have the chance now. In each case, parts of an aircraft.

The German airline Lufthansa has scrapped one of its Airbus A340-600, and transformed the parts into coffee tables.

Tables are created as part of a cooperation with Lufthansa’s loyalty program Miles & More. They are part of a collection, which the company calls the Upcycling. The tables are designed by Wilco Design.

You can either buy the tables with points from the loyalty programme or cash. If you do not just faced with a lot of points, so cost tables between 1399 euro (10.445 dollars) and 2999 euro (22.391 dkk).

the Airbus A340-600 is the world’s second largest aircraft and was first introduced twenty years ago, but is no longer in operation by Lufthansa, as the more fuel efficient the A350 has taken over.

It took 10 weeks to cut the plane up into smaller parts, so it could be used for the unique designobjekter.
