Relying on the fact that the basic laws of architecture do not apply to politics, Sumar yesterday completed the foundations of the implementation of a political project that was forced to start from the roof after the advance of the general elections of 23-J which interrupted the listening process started months earlier by the confederal space.

For this reason, and despite the fact that he has been sitting every week in the Council of Ministers for several months now, the assembly held yesterday was his founding act.

A conclave held in the La Nave space in Madrid to define its main ideological and strategic lines, and in which 70% of the coordinating management group was elected – the remaining 30% is reserved for the coalition parties, among which EU, More Madrid and the commons stand out – through a vote in which there were no surprises and the list led by Yolanda Díaz clearly prevailed (81.6% of the votes).

In this way, and while waiting for that 30%, the second vice-president of the Spanish Government ensures the control of the party, since she keeps for her like-minded 76 of the 137 positions that will be available to the national executive: “Add it is not about winning the elections, but about winning the country as it was done on 23-J”, she proclaimed and was endorsed by her militancy

The Minister of Labor listed the actions taken by Sumar through its five ministries – Health, Culture, Social Rights and Youth and Children – to summarize the feeling of a training reinforced yesterday: “We know it will not be easy, but Sumar he has come to advance rights (…) And whoever thinks he can do it alone, is wrong”, indirectly warned the PSOE, which he accuses of “putting the legislature on stand by” by resigning. at least. to try to approve some general budgets for this year after the Catalan electoral progress.

On the political level, Sumar proclaims a “labourist, green, feminist and plurinational” political ideology.

While in the organic sector, it bets on the “federal” model rooted in the territory and the desire to be a “friendly” space for the coexistence of various progressive sensibilities, as demonstrated by the non-competition pacts recently signed with the commons and More Madrid in Catalonia and in Madrid, respectively.

Sources of the new management trust that the “successful assembly” held will be a “turning point” with which to dispel the doubts that arose after the downgrade caused by Sumar in the Galician elections. Even though they recognize that “the urgency is pressing” and that the three elections that will be held between now and June – Basque, Catalan and European – will measure their resistance earlier than they would like: “We are forced to be right in the steps we take” .
