20 years after the escape: – I take the chance

Two decades after leaving a krigsplaget Afghanistan with his family, the return of the Danish international Nadia Nadim for the first time home, where she was born.

– I don’t know if it ever will be safe, but I take the chance, says Now, in an interview with the Associated Press.

The 31-year-old soccer star is planning his first return to Afghanistan, where she will inspire the girls to pursue fodbolddrømmen.

– I want to give the children the message that everything is possible, and then I will tell them that it is not wrong, what they do, ” says Nadim.

– It is not a sin to play football. You are not doing anything wrong. It is a something that makes you happy, says Nadim.

When the Taliban in 1996 took control of the country, it was forbidden for girls to go to school.

It was hard to grow up in a country where there was war, and where girls are not allowed to anything, says Nadim.

Her father was killed, and in 2000, she went with the rest of the family via Pakistan to Italy and smuggled himself on to Denmark.

In 2009, she came on the Danish national team and the football led her to the big clubs like Manchester City, Portland Thorns and now Paris SG.
