The National Police of La Rioja is investigating a teacher from a school in Logroño for allegedly sending messages of a sexual nature to a minor student from the same educational center.
The teacher was arrested, brought to justice and, subsequently, the court in charge of the case, after giving a statement, released him with charges until the trial is held.
The Higher Police Headquarters of La Rioja has reported the existence of a complaint for a crime of child grooming (pedophile deception over the Internet) of a minor towards the teacher of the educational center of the capital of Rioja, who was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of these facts and brought to judicial disposal. The complaint was presented to the Headquarters by the student’s parents in the first days of this month of December, before the Constitution Day long weekend.
The teacher, according to the first data of the investigation, would have sent the messages to the student, who is studying Primary Education, through telematic means, without which ones having been made known.
The Ministry of Education confirms that there is a protocol that is followed in this type of situation, by which, once the complaint is received, it is transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office and the teacher is suspended until the case is resolved, all with the utmost discretion to protect the minor.
