The 35-year-old man in prison after being arrested on February 8 in a closet in the home of his ex-partner, whom he allegedly intended to kill in Vecindario (Gran Canaria), had previously mistreated two other couples and was Wanted by the Police since the 3rd of this month.

As reported by Civil Guard sources this Sunday, the 35-year-old ex-partner had denounced him for ill-treatment and was listed as a high risk in the Viogen system and filed another complaint on February 3 after threatening her with the knife in the portal from their house, where they had lived for a year until the relationship broke down in December 2022, a fact that was not accepted by the alleged aggressor.

The detainee had a restraining order from his ex-partner that could not be enforced when he was in search and capture, although he had been in prison for six months for having violated the prohibition of approaching one of his previous victims.

On February 8, he was arrested after forcing the front door and accessing the house, where he hid inside a closet in the master bedroom while waiting for his ex-girlfriend to return from work.

A neighbor who heard noises in the house and who saw the forced door alerted the Civil Guard, who verified that it was an address belonging to a high-risk victim of Gender Violence, so the agents quickly accessed the house before the possible commission of a flagrant crime.

After inspecting the house, they found the alleged assailant in the closet, crouched among the clothes, wearing latex gloves, with which he would allegedly carry out his aggression.

The Civil Guard also located various objects among his belongings, including a roll of duct tape, scissors, more latex gloves, a lighter, a torn brochure from the place where the victim works, and a passport-type photo of the victim.

The Court of Violence against Women number 1 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana ordered the entry into prison of the detainee as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide and another of trespassing.
