How did you get interested in art?

When I was signing up for classes for eighth grade, I just thought “Hey, art sounds cool.” When I took it, I found out that I really enjoyed it. I like art because of how much I get to use my hands and my creativity. I feel focused when I work on an art project that can distract me from any stress.

Is there a medium you most like to work with?

I like to most work with mixed media and sketching, but next year I plan on taking a painting course.

How did you come up with the idea for your Old Bay Bridge collage?

I lived in San Francisco when I was younger, and I love cities and the ocean. That’s when I remembered the cool bridges I saw and the Bay Bridge was what I ended up choosing.

Do you have any advice for next year’s freshmen on starting high school?

To anyone preparing to be a freshman, just don’t procrastinate your homework, stay positive and school will be so much less stressful.
