Orlando man with swastika tattoo accused of brutally beating roommate, police say

A man with a swastika tattoo on his neck is accused of brutally beating his roommate Saturday — apparently over television service, records show.

Orlando police arrested Michael Sobon, 57, after responding to his home on Arlington Street just before 11 p.m. to reports of a fight, an arrest report states.

Sobon’s roommate told police he came home and Sobon started punching him without provocation, according to the report. The roommate eventually fell down and Sobon started kicking him in the face and head, the report states.

Police said the roommate was bleeding heavily and had numerous “severe injuries to his face and head.” Emergency medical crews rushed him to a hospital.

An update on his condition wasn’t available Monday.

Sobon told police he had gotten into an argument with his roommate over the television and money, according to the report. Sobon said he got “fed up” and canceled their service, but he denied any physical altercation.

Police said Sobon had fresh blood on his shoes, “which would be consistent with kicking” his roommate in the head. The arrest report noted he has a swastika on his neck.

Sobon is facing a charge of aggravated battery resulting in serious bodily harm. He was being held Monday in the Orange County Jail. Bail was set at $3,500.
