This Easter, the projections point to a new tourist record with millions of trips expected on our roads. With last year’s state aid for fuel almost forgotten, the discount policies of service stations are especially relevant at one of the times of the year with the highest consumption of gasoline and diesel.

Despite the high cost of living, with prices 3.3 percent more expensive than a year ago according to the latest inflation data from the INE, Spaniards need vacations. Tips for efficient driving that allow optimizing the average consumption of vehicles proliferate on the networks, while some are once again considering the suitability of buying hybrid, electric or gas-powered cars given the verification of the cost of travel.

Repsol has announced a new discount scheme that will alleviate one of the main points of friction in family budgets, the energy bill that moves us, heats us and feeds the arteries of our homes.

Taking advantage of its multi-energy profile, Repsol has presented the first offer to clients in Spain that integrates all energy services into a single company, with increasing discounts depending on the services contracted.

“At Repsol we have connected the energy that drives your car with all the energies in your home (electricity, heating, solar) to save and make your life easier,” explains Valero Marín, General Director of Client on Energy Plans.

The new offer continues to give priority to the use of Repsol service stations for those customers who exclusively refuel or recharge their electric vehicles, with a minimum saving of 5 euro cents per liter of fuel and 3 percent on recharges electrical. It is based on a simple rule: the greater the relationship with Repsol, the greater the benefits.

Under the slogan ‘Connected Energies’, the initiative links discounts to the use of service stations (Car Plan) and that is increasing with the contracting of other services such as energy products, electricity (Car and Light Plan), gas (Car, Light and Heating Plan), or solar energy (Solar Energy Plan).

These are four main plans whose savings scale depending on the contracted products, from a 5 euro cent discount per liter of fuel and 3 percent of electric recharges for users exclusively at service stations to 20 euro cents per liter and free recharging for electric vehicles for those who, in addition to refueling or recharging the batteries, have contracted electricity and gas services with the company and have installed or have joined photovoltaic initiatives for self-consumption.

Since fuel prices skyrocketed in March 2022 as a result of market tension after the invasion of Ukraine, Repsol has maintained a discount policy for its customers which, according to Marín, have generated estimated savings of around 500 million euros. euros charged to their margins. “We are very aware of our role in society. We want to make profitability and commitments to shareholders compatible with a contribution to a better and more sustainable future”, he explains.

The company wants to take advantage of the rise of its popular Waylet payment application – through which it interacts with a community of six million users – to strengthen the digital relationship with customers. The campaign includes the creation of a specific customer area on its website to further simplify and personalize management. In this space, Repsol will bring together all consulting services, discount calculators and energy advice through a dedicated blog.

The savings obtained through the plans can be used in future payments both at service stations and electric recharging points, as well as Repsol electricity and gas bills, butane cylinders, diesel orders, gift cards or any of the other more than the 4,400 establishments attached to Waylet. So, you know, take advantage of this early spring to travel connected and continue saving.
