April is the literary month par excellence. World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated on the 23rd of this month, a celebration decreed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The objective of this day is to promote reading, in addition to publicizing the right of intellectual property for the authors of literary works.

Reading has important benefits for all those who dedicate part of their day to reading books. Among others, reading increases comprehension, attention, concentration and critical thinking. In addition, it is an activity that arouses curiosity and feeds the imagination.

Book Day is a special moment for all writers and writers, who for one day become great protagonists. Through their works, they feed the art of literature, reflecting different realities and ideas that nourish all readers.

In this way, this day also fuels some people’s interest in writing. The problem is that writing a book is not an easy task. Facing the blank page and starting to write is quite a challenge. In fact, although some people believe that it is enough to be a creative and resourceful person, the task of writers requires the knowledge and training of certain techniques and skills.

In this sense, it is interesting to learn about some training aimed at better understanding how the world of creative writing works. For example, what are the necessary techniques to develop creative narratives or what is the subsequent process of publishing and distributing the book, either on your own or through a publisher.

There are plenty of courses on creative writing techniques. For example, the École des Arts’ Master’s in Creative Writing and Storytelling allows you to familiarize yourself with the principles of storytelling and learn to use the general rules of writing, such as wording and spelling. Once you master the technical principles, you can develop your creative side by creating a series of literary texts that allow you to explore different stylistic devices and rhetorical figures.

Another option is the Master in Screenwriting in Creative Writing, taught by the Versailles European School. The master’s degree provides a complete vision of the cinematographic world focused on the script, its structure and the characters, as well as a solid foundation in writing, linguistics, grammar, narration and literary language.

In the Creative Writing and Storytelling Course of the Leadership School (ELBS) you will learn about literary creation of different genres, editing and illustration based on the evolution of writing, the elements of communication, the characteristics of the texts and the linguistics among others, taking into account the grammar, the type of narration and the literary language used.

Finally, we recommend the Master in Creative Writing and Narrative Master in Writing and Correction of Styles, taught by Educa Business School. This training not only focuses on acquiring the necessary knowledge to professionally write any type of text, whether it is of a literary or journalistic genre, but the students will also learn about literary correction.
