A 22-year-old girl of Polish nationality took her own life yesterday by cutting her neck in a shop in the Plaza de España in Palma (Mallorca).
According to sources close to the investigation, the event occurred around 4:00 p.m. when the young woman entered the commercial establishment. After heading to the kitchen section, she appropriated a knife with which she later cut her throat.
Different agents from the Homicide and Scientific departments of the National Police, as well as from the Local Police of Palma and several SAMU 061 ambulances, have traveled to the scene. Investigation sources have confirmed that the twenty-something woman had a psychiatric history and had been in treatment for mental health problems.
According to local press reports, the young woman entered the Müller store alone, located in the Plaza de España in the Majorcan capital. She went up to the first floor and called her sister on the phone.
After attracting attention with her attitude, a woman decided to approach her to try to calm her down. But the young woman avoided the situation and she went to the kitchen section, she took a knife and after moving to the toy store area, she stuck it in his neck.
The establishment was full of customers who witnessed what happened and were immediately evicted, although several of them had to be attended by psychologists.
The toilets tried to revive the young woman without success but, after having lost a lot of blood, they could only confirm her death.
