A six-year-old girl died this Tuesday in a public hospital of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in the southeastern state of Quintana Roo, after being crushed in an elevator while being transferred on a stretcher to the hospitalization area.

He also said that the institution “provides and guarantees comprehensive support to the family from the beginning.”
According to the bulletin, the IMSS assured that the required and adequate medical attention was provided during the contingency, but “unfortunately the patient died.”
The IMSS pointed out that the management staff of the medical unit “immediately” notified the competent authorities, “with whom it collaborates in the investigation, providing all the necessary facilities for the corresponding actions, in order to guarantee transparency in this unfortunate made”. Finally, he argued that the elevator maintenance service is subrogated to an external company.
