The case of the Jesuit Cesc Peris, now in his eighties and retired in a residence in Manresa, has been like removing a hornet’s nest with a stick. Reported for alleged sexual abuse in Bolivia, where he spent a short time, more than 234 former students of the Jesuïtes Casp school in Barcelona, where he spent 30 years, wondered why he had not been reported here if his “inappropriate behavior” was a secret voices.

But Sex Penis, as he was nicknamed, was not the only one. As a result of the information published by La Vanguardia, El País and El Periódico de Catalunya, among many other media, at least a dozen more Jesuits have been pointed out. One day after V., a 71-year-old doctor, denounced “brother C.” and “the parents P.L.C. and A.P.P. ”, another former student telephoned this newsroom to endorse his words.

A., a 78-year-old engineer, who also studied until high school at Casp, recalls that brother C. “took care of the little ones in activities that were not strictly school activities: recess, the dining room, the classroom for the homework… He sat at a desk, on a platform with three steps to dominate the entire classroom. He from time to time he would call some of us to listen to us in a kind of confession ”.

V., the first complainant, has filed a letter with the Cremades law firm

Another phone call to this newsroom makes one think of the title of a novel by Manuel Andújar, Historias de una historia. As his father and his grandfather did before, J., 67, a well-known professional in his industry, studied at Casp. Like many other former students, he assures that the preparation he received at this academic center was excellent and that he does not regret having studied there: “I would do it again.”

J. was part of the first BUP class to have Cesc Peris as a tutor. Remember that one day the English teacher said in the classroom: “Ask me what you want.” And the typical joker of the group exclaimed: “How many women have you slept with?”. When the Jesuit Peris found out what had happened, he “expelled him for a week.” Sex was a taboo at school long before, as former students over 70 know very well.

One of these former students recalls that in the 1960s a friend was expelled from Casp (“the Jesuits of Sarrià accepted him as a great favor”). His crime was collecting photos of Brigitte Bardot that were published in Paris Match and other magazines. The same faculty that was so harsh with childishness like this housed teachers who were excited to know if nine-year-olds were voyeurs or prone to voyeurism.

They remember Sex Penis handsome and seductive, with clothes and manners that were not at all like the rest of the teachers. “His unworthy behavior of him surprises few at this point,” explains a member of the class of 1981: “he was not clean wheat. They would have to expel him from the congregation. Nothing to do with very loved Jesuits from the school”. And he quotes six. He gets stuck when they explain that two of them have been singled out by students who lived another story in history.
