Neither the cold nor the hint of rain prevented Sant Jordi’s day from being a success again. Books and roses flooded the streets of all corners of Catalonia in a festive day that, pending confirmation, is expected to be a record. The books sold satisfied authors and publishers and although the final figures will not be released until April 29, an increase in sales is estimated to range between 7% and 20%.
Among the best-selling titles are La grieta del silencio by Javier Castillo or Un animal salvaje by Joël Dicker in the fiction category in Spanish, while in Catalan they triumphed in History of a piano by Ramon Gener or Learning to dodge bullets, by Xavi Coral.
