The trick to steam cooking with just a pot and without accessories or Thermomix

Steaming is a very healthy option when preparing your favorite dishes. The temperature helps to better preserve the nutrients and by not using water, the mineral salts in the food do not dissolve and their color or flavor is not altered. The main drawback to applying this type of cooking is the need to have a pressure cooker or a Thermomix-type food processor… At least until now.

The popular chef @paulinacocina, with more than 4 million followers on Instagram, has shared a surprising trick for steam cooking using only an ordinary pot and something we all have at home: aluminum foil. In this video, which already has more than 36,000 likes, the Argentine cook explains that you should cover the bottom of the pot with aluminum foil and place the food you want to steam on it. Next, a splash of water is added, the pot is covered and left on the heat for the time necessary to cook your favorite recipes.

This trick can be applied to all types of dishes. In this case, Paulina has tried steaming vegetables. To do this, first of all, she has placed rice and spices to taste on the aluminum foil: cinnamon, cloves, rosemary, pepper and bay leaf. Afterwards, she has poured the onion and zucchini over the garnish, on top of the pot. During cooking, it is recommended to carve the vegetables with a knife to check the doneness. These same steps are customizable and can be applied to all types of dishes, recipes and foods that you want to steam, such as meat or fish.

When serving, season and season the steamed dish to taste. The Instagrammer has opted for a sauce of peanut butter, yogurt, lemon and olive oil to accompany the onion and zucchini. Paulina, who loved how well this trick turned out, highlights that “the flavor of the vegetables is completely different” after applying this cooking technique. She also reviews that the food “smells very good and is cooked but crispy.”

“I am amazed by this method,” Paulina tells her followers about this trick, with which she hopes to “change their lives.” Despite warnings that she ‘can fail’, the influencer is willing to dare to steam fish after trying this technique with vegetables.
