As the etymology of the word indicates, meatballs are a recipe of Arabic origin that has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries (al-bunduqa, ‘the ball’). Meatballs are one of those traditional dishes whose main ingredient is minced meat (although you can also cook fish balls, or vegan meatballs), and that are loved by children and adults.

There are those who prefer them with parsley, without parsley, with pepper, with tomato sauce… And, there are those who accompany them with rice, potatoes or vegetables… There is no single recipe to prepare the meatballs but there are some basic guidelines for their preparation.
