The Cafeteria Avenida 55 in Logroño has become a topic of discussion after issuing a ticket that shows a 10 cent discount on any drink for those customers who are considered “ugly”.

The promotion has generated surprise but also some outrage among customers who visited the establishment and shared the unusual offer on social networks.

The image of the ticket began to circulate quickly, triggering a series of comments, some with a sense of humor in the face of disbelief, but others clearly against it.

The tweet has received more than 5,000 “likes” in just a few hours, but it is not the first time that a ticket from that cafeteria has gone viral. In fact, the establishment has achieved success on the social network on other occasions with similar promotions.

Another ticket that generated great repercussion showed two charges: one of €1.20 for a coffee with hot soy milk, without foam and with saccharin, and an additional 20 cents for “divining techniques applied to coffee”. On another occasion, a supplement of one euro was included for ordering a potato omelette without onion.

The owner of the cafeteria Alberto Álvarez, nicknamed Pizarrín, made a statement for El HuffPost explaining it: “We are a family cafeteria and in the end the customers are more friends than anything else.”
