Have you ever found yourself in a situation where your dog, who you would swear is the calmest in the world, suddenly becomes a little whirlwind of energy and disobedience? Well you are not alone.

Irish President Michael D. Higgins demonstrated his professionalism in 2021 when Misneach, one of his two Bernese Mountain Dogs living in Áras an Uachtaráin – the president’s residence – tried to get his attention by playfully nipping at his hand and jacket. while he was giving an interview about a deceased actor.

Despite the unexpected interruption, Higgins did not lose his composure and continued with his intervention, caressing the mischievous puppy, who at that time was only seven months old. In this way, the Icelandic president did not have to stop talking to calm his four-legged friend, who gladly received the signs of affection.

Higgins himself had already openly shared Misneach’s antics. Before this episode, the Irish president confessed on The Late Late Show that, although the puppy had his moments of rebellion, especially “he bit a little” due to his youth, everything was treated “delicately.”

Since his arrival in March 2021, Misneach has quickly become an inseparable companion of Bród, another of the president’s Bernese Mountain Dogs, filling the halls of Áras an Uachtaráin with joy.

This addition was especially emotional after the death of Síoda, Bród’s sister, whose absence left a certain sadness in the family. Higgins’ career with the Bernese Mountain Dogs also includes the beloved Shadow, whose memory remains alive in the heart of the presidential family.
