The second chance of an abandoned Belgian Shepherd puppy, now a police dog at the Girona Canine Unit

Mila was a Belgian Shepherd puppy who was abandoned at a veterinarian in Girona. When she was left there she was very small, she was hungry, sick and neglected, but, fortunately, her luck changed thanks to Laura’s good will and affection.

This young veterinarian decided to take care of the dog, took care of her and made her recover from the multiple illnesses she suffered from. When they found her, Mila she had anemia, scabies, parasites and septicemia, among other things. Thanks to intensive treatment, Laura’s new canine friend began to recover.

Little by little it improved, both strengthened their bond and began to work together. The moment Laura realized that Mila had a lot of potential, energy and desire to work, she had an idea that gave her a second chance in life.

Laura decided to contact Narcís, one of the members of the K9 Canine Unit of Girona, so that he could continue training Mila and educate her to become a police dog. He was a very special and clever Belgian shepherd, and that is why she managed to progress very quickly.

Currently, Mila has become one of the best officers at the Girona Canine Unit, where she is dedicated to detecting narcotic substances. A moving story about a dog who went from being abandoned, on the verge of death, to having a new purpose in life that makes her tremendously happy.
