The poster of a restaurant to search for staff that outrages Twitter users

The lack of staff in the hospitality industry is not new, in fact, for months restaurateurs have been complaining that the sector is experiencing an unprecedented crisis. Hence, some have resorted to looking for employees in the most explicit way possible, that is, placing a sign on the door of their establishment, as has been done all their lives, without having to publish their job offers on Infojobs or other job platforms. Internet.

This is the case of a steakhouse in Estepona (Málaga) that, after posting its ad, quickly went viral on social networks. She has achieved “fame” for outraging many Twitter users with her job offer. “We have been looking for waiters, kitchen helpers and grill workers for a year. We pay above the agreement and no one shows up”, can be read at the beginning of the poster that the user Diego E. Barros has spread on the social network.

So far so good, what many have not known how to fit are the words that follow: “We have more than three million unemployed receiving the subsidy (10,000 in Marbella and 5,000 in Spain; 203,000 people receiving the minimum vital income and a number indeterminate number of illegal immigrants, receiving a pension and having health care”, ends the text, together with the words “national shame” in capital letters.

Unsurprisingly, many Twitter users have called the job offer racist, and the barrage of comments has been considerable. “I wonder how do ‘illegal’ immigrants collect pensions if they are illegal?” replies a user. “And he is surprised not to find staff with that sign on…”, says another.

Among the more than 600 comments that the post accumulates, there are also those who have taken advantage of the moment to apply for the position: “Where is it? To leave my resume, I am a waitress and cook, I would love to work in that bar, I say it in Seriously no irony”, asked a user.
