Calculating the exact time for all the popcorn to cook at the same time in the microwave is not easy. The most common thing is that some grains of corn do not explode, and that they end up falling into the bowl when you serve your popcorn. However, there is a trick so that you can separate them from the corn that has been cooked and in this way you do not have to separate them manually.

The method has gone viral on TikTok, where many videos have been posted with the hashtag.

As user @dareal_anibae shows, once the corn kernels (or at least most of them) are cooked, you shouldn’t open the bag all the way. Stretch the ends as you usually do, but only leaving a small slit, as seen in the video. Then, shake the bag vigorously with the hole facing down: you will see how the grains fall. When you’re done, there will only be popcorn in the bag and you can eat it comfortably.

And what can you do with the pimples that have not burst? Well, don’t throw them away. Store them in an airtight container with a tablespoon of water for two days. If you do, you will get them to hydrate and the next time you cook them they will explode for sure.

Some grains don’t cook well because they don’t have enough moisture, explains The New York Times. This occurs because the corn husk is made up of layers of cellulose that, when heated, crystallize between them. The more the shell crystallizes, the harder the surface of the corn kernel becomes, making it more difficult for it to burst. That’s why you should moisten the excess.

When you cook them again, remember that you can give them your personal touch by seasoning them with a variety of spices, such as oregano, rosemary, curry, cinnamon, or coconut. Once the popcorn is ready and piping hot, you can also add cheese or chocolate.
