The new manager of the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community (CMCV), Nicolás Búgeda, has presented himself to the exceptional stabilization process through the merit contest system, convened by the body that he himself presides over. Búgueda has been part of the CMCV staff since 2005, where he has developed different functions and skills associated with technical-administrative management until today, as explained by the Ministry of Culture on the day of his appointment.
In response to questions from this newspaper, the same Ministry points out that the stabilization process in the CMCV began with a resolution of December 26, 2022, signed by the manager of the CMCV at that time, José Luis Pérez Pont. It was in November 2023 when the provisional list of people admitted and excluded in the CMCV stability calls was publicized.
Then, the same sources point out, this list already included Nicolás Bugeda Cabrera as well as all the CMCV staff who have been on a temporary basis since 2005 and who in 2013 were declared indefinitely non-permanent by a court ruling in the year 2013.
For this reason, they reiterate that “Nicolás Bugeda as the current manager of the CMCV has not participated or interfered in this entire process.”
After his name appeared in the Official Gazette of the Valencian Community (DOCV), the spokesperson for Compromís in Les Corts, Joan Baldoví, regretted that Búgeda is a person “more interested in consolidating his position than in offering a worthy cultural policy.” Furthermore, the Valencian parliamentarian has indicated that the case of the new manager “is worthy of study” because after recovering “miraculously” when they offered him the position, he has shown, according to Baldoví, “that he is more interested in the chair than in the culture “. Baldoví has ??not hesitated to describe Búgeda as “cheeky.”
It should be noted that the appointment of the Consortium manager, after the controversial dismissal of José Luis Pérez Pont, was surrounded by controversy. The National Social Security Institute had recognized Búgeda as totally disabled. However, as the affected person himself explained, “the evolution was favorable and decisive for the medical court to evaluate the recovery and Social Security to approve the change in situation.” The manager also clarified that, upon having the position reserved, he rejoined his job and “once incorporated, management was offered to me, and I agreed.”
