In the south-east of England, the arrival of spring has motivated many homeowners to prepare their gardens for the warm season. Common activities include adding planting boxes and other new decorations such as birdbaths. However, some are faced with the task of removing existing elements to make way for new additions.
This was the case of a couple who decided to dismantle an old shed in poor condition before beginning a complete renovation of their garden, without imagining the discovery that this would bring them.
As they dismantled the shed, plank by plank, and reached the base of the structure, the couple had no idea that someone else had occupied that space. When he lifted the floor, he was greatly surprised to find a group of tiny babies curled up underneath. They immediately stopped the demolition, marveling at the sight of seven little fox cubs sleeping under the floorboards.
“The little foxes were carefully placed in an open box with a hot water bottle and monitored from a distance,” The Fox Project said on its Facebook page, highlighting the incredible dedication of the owners throughout the afternoon and evening to ensure that these little beings could be fine.
The owners anxiously watched the box with the puppies, waiting for their mother’s return. Hours later, her wish came true. “After hours of waiting, the moment we had all been waiting for arrived,” said The Fox Project. So, the brave mother returned and lovingly moved each of her precious babies to a new safe place.
